Images below: The following photographs were taken during the service of
William Humphries in late 1937 onboard HMS Bee. They were actually shot
from HMS Gnat during the Japanese bombing of the Pukow railway yard, which
lies immediately across the Yangtze form Nanking. The railway from Jinan
crosses the Yangtze by ferry at Pukow and the ferry loading bridge is probably
seen in the right of two of the photographs. Notations appearing on the
reverse of each photograph are below each image.
