"The Choir Girls of our Concert Party at Chungking." - It became a tradition for Royal Navy gunboat crews to put on plays, musicals and singing events for the British population and foreign nationals who might be invited to attend. Props were handed over from crew to crew as they rotated out, half of the crew being transferred from China each year.
